About Us

The Gaelic publisher CLÀR was founded in 1996 with the main aim to publish new books with an emphasis on original Gaelic writing.

CLAR has now published more than 80 books. We have published writing from over 100 Gaelic authors and, of course, this continues to grow.

Rody Gorman’s book of poetry, Sa Chnoc, published by CLÀR, won the Poetry Prize at the 2024 Gaelic Literature Awards.
